Military Medal 'At a time when ammunition was badly needed in the Picquet Line during the German attack on 15th April 1917 this man dashed across the open through a hot rifle and machine gun fire and brought back ammunition. He showed himself very courageous under fire and by his devotion to duty set a spendid example.'
