Military Medal 'On 12th October, 1917, and the following days, East of YPRES, during the operations this N.C.O. was conspicuous for his unswerving devotion to duty and indifference to danger. He directed the clearance of wounded from THAMES Regimental Aid Post, although exposed to heavy shell fire, and afforded valuable assistance to the Medical Officers. His courage and endurance set a splendid example to his men, under conditions of great stress and hardship, working over very difficult country and in very adverse weather conditions.'
