Admitted to 14th Field Ambulance, 10 August 1916 (pleuroydmia); discharged to unit, 12 August 1916. Admitted to 36th Casualty Clearing Station, 28 November 1916; to Ambulance Train '7', 28 November 1916; admitted to 6th General Hospital, Rouen, 29 November 1916. Embarked Rouen and proceeded to England, 4 December 1916, and admitted to 2nd Birmingham War Hospital, 5 December 1916; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 16 January 1917; discharged on furlough, 12 February 1917. Marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 3 March 1917.

Embarked Plymouth for return to Australia on HT 'Barambah', 8 April 1917; disembarked Melbourne, 9 June 1917. Discharged Melbourne, 17 July 1917.
