Medals

Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while acting as runner during an attack. He gave great assistance in mounting some light enemy machine guns and showing a machine gun officer, under heavy fire, where he had seen guns undermanned. His initiative and disregard of personal danger were of great assistance in thus increasing fire against an enemy counter attack.'
