Admitted to 3rd Australian Field Ambulance, 9 June 1916 (synovitis); transferred to 1st Field Ambulance, 9 June 1916; to 1st Casualty Clearing Station, 9 June 1916, and discharged to duty. Admitted to 3rd Field Ambulance, 2 September 1917 (defective vision); discharged to duty, 5 September 1917. On leave to Paris, 8 February 1918; rejoined unit, 15 February 1918.
