Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 7 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 14 June 1916. Wounded in action, 8 August 1916 (shell wound, wrist); admitted to 44th Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to 32nd Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, 8 August 1916; transferred to England, 11 August 1916, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth (gun shot wound, wrist). Transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, 17 October 1916; discharged on furlough, 25 October 1916, to report to No. 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 9 November 1916.
