Military Medal 'At HAMEL, on 8th August, 1918, this N.C.O. was in charge of teams conveying ammunition to forward battery positions preparatory to the recent offensive. Blocks in the traffic halted his teams on several occasions when they were subjected to heavy shell fire. On one particular occasion the lead driver and three mules of one team were wounded, and two other teams took fright and damaged the wagons. Acting Bombardier SHEEHY took the wounded men to a Dressing Station, removed the wagons from the road, sent the wounded animals back, and when the road was clear proceeded with the remaining wagons. Throughout the operations he has set a fine example to the men with him by his cheerfulness under all conditions.'
