Proceeded from Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 2 March 1915.

Wounded in action, 25 April 1915 (shrapnel wound, ribs); admitted to 2nd Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh, Egypt, 26 May 1915; discharged to duty, 13 June 1915; rejoined unit at Gallipoli, 22 June 1915.

Wounded in action, 12 July 1915 (shrapnel wound, head); admitted to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 12 July 1915; transferred to Fleet and embarked on HS 'Gascon'; disembarked Malta, 18 July 1915, and admitted to Floriana Hospital; transferred to All Saints' Convalescent Camp, 28 August 1915. Embarked for Egypt on HMT 'Karoa', 8 September 1915; taken on strength, Overseas Base, 15 September 1915.
