Military Medal 'During the advance South of FRAMERVILLE near AMIENS, on the 9th August 1918, this N.C.O. volunteered and successfully carried a message from his Company Commander to Battalion Headquarters through an intense machine gun fire, after two other runners had been wounded. The message was a most important one, and Lance Corporal SHORT showed great bravery in getting it through.'
