Military Medal 'In broad daylight on morning of 7th June, 1918, near METEREN, Lance-Corporal SIMMS, in company with a Sergeant and one man, surprised an enemy post and captured nine of the enemy and one machine gun, and brought them back to our lines. This N.C.O. showed great courage and initiative throughout the operation.'
