Military Medal 'At POZIERES on the night 7th/8th August, 1916, Private SIMPSON was carrying out his duties as runner between the firing line and the supports. There was a heavy hostile artillery fire all night and although Private SIMPSON was hit early in the evening, he never reported himself as wounded until the next morning having carried messages all night.'
