Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916.

Reported missing, 19 July 1916.

Court of Enquiry, held in the field, 4 August 1917, pronounced fate as 'Killed in Action, 19 July 1916'.

Statement, Red Cross File No 0461002, 3254 Pte D.G. BRADSHAW, 58th Bn (patient, 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, England), 19 February 1917: 'Refer to Pte D.H.D. Burnie 2365 at Perham Downs or Wareham who informed me that he went out with a party to recover some of their wunded and brought in Botting's disc.' {Note: BURNIE cannot be identified on any list.]
