Meritorious Service Medal 'For long, continuous, and markedly efficient service from 12th May, 1915, to 31st January, 1919. He has been in the Australian Provost Corps for 2 1/2 years, during which period he has proved himself a thoroughly efficient and reliable N.C.O. For the past 14 months he has been doing duty at the Australian Corps Field Punishment Compound as a Senior N.C.O., and has carried out his difficult and arduous duties in a fearless manner, and has set a splendid example to the men under him.'
