Military Medal 'During the operations East of ZONNEBEKE, 28th to 30th October 1917 Private SKILTON showed great gallantry and devotion to duty. When his post was blown in on 29.10.17 he at once organised the men and quickly got the position into order again. When casualties occurred he was the first to render assistance and give the stretcher bearers great help in getting out the wounded men. By his initiative, hard work and spirit of cheerfulness he set a fine example to his comrades uring a very trying time.'
