'During the operations east of VILLERS BRETONNEUX, east of AMIENS, on 8th August, 1918, this N.C.O. rushed his section out to a flank, enfilading an enemy post, demoralising the occupants and causing them to surrender. He captured four Machine Guns and 25 prisoners. All through the operations he showed a fine example of courage to his comrades, irrespective of all danger.'
