Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry. He organized the supplies of ammunition &c., to the front line under very heavy shell fire, after the Sgt. Maj. and other Warrant Officers had become casualties. Later, in the firing line, he did fine work, encouraging the men throughout a heavy bombardment.'
