War service: Egypt, Western Front Admitted to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 19 February, and transferred to 1st Australian General Hospital (hammer toe); to Convalescent Depot, Ras-el-Tin, 17 March 1916; discharged to duty, Tel-el-Kebir, 26 April 1916. Embarked Alexandria on SS 'Briton' and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 28 May 1916. Found guilty, 7 July 1916, of being absent without leave, 12.00 am, 4 July, to 2.00 pm, 6 July 1916: awarded forfeiture of 2 days' pay; forfeited total of 4 days' pay.
