Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty in action East of YPRES on 4th October 1917. This man was on duty at an Advanced R.A.P. and was constantly under very heavy shell ire. In spire of this, he dressed the wounded in the open, with a total disregard for his personal safety. He continued on duty for two days continuously until he himself was severely wounded.'
