Military Medal 'At WESTHOEK RIDGE 20th September 1917. He conducted with great coolness and courage his platoon as a carrying party to the forward dump in the front line. Later, he reorganised his platoon and returned through a heavy enemy barrage, to bring up a further supply of water and tools.'
