War service: Egypt, Western Front Embarked Melbourne, 9 November 1915; disembarked Suez, 7 December 1915. Transferred to 2nd ANZAC Headquarters, 30 March 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 6 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 13 June 1916. On leave, 11 December 1917; rejoined unit from leave, 26 December 1917. Admitted to New Zealand Field Ambulance, 1 January 1918 (gonorrhoea); transferred same day to 2nd Casualty Clearing Station, and then to Ambulance Train, 2 January 1918; admitted to 7th Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 3 January 1918; transferred to 39th General Hospital, Havre, 5 January 1918; discharged to Base Depot, 4 April 1918; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 94 days.
