Disembarked Alexandria ex Mudros (Gallipoli evacuation), 9 January 1916. Appointed Driver, Transport Section, 15 March 1916.

Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 25 March 1916. Admitted to 6th Field Ambulance, 14 May 1916 (injured ankle); transferred to 2nd Australian Divisional Rest Station; discharged to unit, 20 May 1916.

On leave to United Kingdom, 12 October 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 30 October 1918.

Proceeded to England for return to Australia, 15 January 1919; marched in to No. 1 Command Depot, Sutton Veney, 16 January 1919; marched out to 2nd Training Brigade, 7 February 1919. Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Warwickshire', 5 April 1919; disembarked Sydney, 31 May 1919; discharged, 30 July 1919.
