Admitted to 14th General Hospital, Wimereux, 4 April 1917; transferred to England, 7 April 1917, and admitted to 1st Eastern General Hospital, Cambridge, 8 April 1917 (neck injury). Transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, 22 May 1917; to No. 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 27 March 1917.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Nestor', 22 July 1917; discharged, 2 November 1917 (flat feet, rheumatism).
