Military Medal 'On the 4th July, 1918, during the attack on the enemy trenches in the neighbourhood of HAMEL, Corporal STAMP was in charge of a Lewis Gun Section. On his platoon being held up when advancing to the final objective, STAMP manoeuvred his Lewis Gun Section successfully into a position of advantage and succeeded in putting the enemy Machine Gun out of action. He then rushed forward with his section and captured the gun. By his skilful handling of his Lewis Gun at a critical moment he undoubtedly saved many casualties. He set an excellent example of bravery and devotion to duty to his comrades.'
