Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 22 August 1915;

Admitted to hospital, Gallipoli, 30 November 1915; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 5 December 1915 (oedema of leg).

Proceeded to join Western Frontier Force, Egypt, 14 January 1916.

Admitted to hospital, Romani, 14 January 1916, and transferred same day to 31st General Hospital, Port Said (cardiac disease); discharged to Base Depot, 20 July 1916; taken on strength, 1st Light Horse Training Regiment, Tel el Kebir, 21 July 1917.

Taken on strength, 1st Light Horse Regiment, Romani, 16 August 1916.

Admitted to Citadel Military Hospital, Cairo, 10 May 1917 (tonsilitis); discharged to 1st Light Horse Training Regiment, Moascar, 26 May 1917.

Taken on strength, 1st Light Horse Regiment, 21 June 1917.

Admitted to Rest Camp, Port Said, 6 September 1917; rejoined Regiment from Rest Camp, 18 September 1917.

Wounded in action, 12 November 1917 (gun shot wound, hip); admitted to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 19 November 1917; transferred to Rest Camp, Port Said, 5 March 1918; to 1st Light Horse Training Regiment, Moascar, 27 March 1918; rejoined 1st Light Horse Regiment, 26 July 1918.

Admitted to 14th Australian General Hospital, Port Said, 28 Seoptember 1918; discharged to Rest Camp, 24 October 1918.

Admitted to 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital, Moascar, 31 October 1918 (influenza); marched in to Rest Camp, Port Said, 9 November 1918.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Port Darwin', 15 November 1918; disembarked Melbourne, 26 December 1918; discharged, Melbourne, 22 September 1919.
