Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while acting as battalion scout officer. He located an enemy machine gun post and with one N.C.O. rushed it and captured the gun and fort two prisoners. He did splendidly, and his courage and enterprise had a most inspiring effect on all under his command.'
