Found guilty, Fovant, 23 November 1916, of being absent without leave, 6 am to 2 pm, 21 November 1916: awarded 7 days' confined to barracks, and forfeiture of 1 day's pay under Royal Warrant. Marched in to 1st Training Bn, 8 December 1916. Medical report, 14 December 1916, stated age to be 51, and noted disability as 'senility and lumbago'. Marched to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 5 January 1917. Commenced return to Australia from Plymouth on board HT 'Beltana', 17 March 1917; discharged (medically unfit: arterio-sclerosis), Sydney, 14 June 1917 . Medal: British War Medal |
