Military Medal 'Edward Laurence STINSON was stretcher-bearing east of RONSSOY on Sunday September 27th, 1918. The advance up the valley was under observation from the ridge and shell fire was very severe. This stretcher bearer advanced with Battalion to which he was attached and greatly assisted in the dressing and evacuation of the wounded. His work during the forty-eight hours in which he was attached to the Battalion was consistently god and his efforts aided much towards the successful evacuation of wounded. On one occasion whilst carrying a patient he and his squad were blown up and partially buried, but nevertheless, carried on until the patients were safely evacuated.'
