Military Medal 'This N.C.O. is brought to notice for conspicuous gallantry and ability in an attack on LE VERGUIER on the 18th September, 1918. This N.C.O. led his Platoon forward with remarkable daring and judgment and when the company on his Left was held up by Machine Gun fire he, with two men, crawled up a communication sap and silenced two guns, killing or capturing the crews. His action and personal disregard for safety during the whole operation was of the highest order and an example to all he came in contact with.'
