Military Medal 'During the attack on MONT ST. QUENTIN, near PERONNE, on 31st August 1918, this N.C.O. showed great bravery and dash when leading his section across 400 yards of open ground, in face of heavy machine gun fire. On approaching PARK WOOD he showed no hesitation but rushed straight into the enemy position with such determination, that the enemy in front gave way. he was seen to chase them well ahead of his men, killing every man he met with rifle fire or bombs.'
