Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period 26th March to 16th September 1918 this N.C.O. has consistently displayed gallant conduct and devotion to duty whilst acting as Battery Quartermaster Sergeant. On numerous occasions he has rendered excellent service under heavy fire in getting forward rations and ammunition to the section in the line. His conduct at all times has been deserving of the highest praise.'
