Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For consistently good work, devotion to duty, and gallantry under fire from 25 February to 16 September 1918. He has worked untiringly in the interests of the men and horses of his company, and has been of great assistance to his company commander. When the camp of his company was shelled on 22-23 April, near St. Sylvestre Cappel, and on 13 August, near Weincourt, by his prompt action he undoubtedly saved many casualties.'
