Military Medal 'At WESTHOEK on 20th/21st September 1917, this man acted as a Battalion runner. His work was distinctly good, and his pluck and determination in getting through barraged areas with messages was an example of bravery to all ranks. His willingness to undertake perilous journeys at all hours of the day and night cannot be too highly spoken of.'
