Wounded in action, Gallipoli Peninsula, 2 May 1915; admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, 9 May 1915 (bayonet wound to arm); transferred to Convalescent Camp, Helouan, Egypt, 17 May 1915; discharged to duty, 24 May 1915. Embarked Alexandria for duty, 21 July 1915; rejoined 13th Bn in the field, Gallipoli Peninsula, 27 July 1915. Wounded in action, 22 August 1915; admitted to Hospital Ship, HE 'Franconia', and transferred to England, 23 August 1915; admitted to Military Hospital, Lewisham, England, 9 September 1915 (severe wound); discharged from hospital and marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 28 February 1916.
