Admitted to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 11 October 1917 (dysentery); transferred to Convalescent Depot, 1 November 1917; to Montazah Hospital, 14 November 1917; to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 4 December 1917; discharged from hospital and posted to 3rd Bn, 20 December 1917.

Rejoined unit, 22 December 1917; transferred to and taken on strength of 15th Light Horse Brigade in the field, 1 July 1918; to be Driver, 1 July 1918.
