Military Medal 'On 28th May, 1918 at RIBEMONT near ALBERT this man was lead driver of a wagon taking ammunition to the forward batteries, when a very heavy enemy barrage came down, instantly killing the wheel driver and severely wounding the centre driver, who fell from his horse. The team bolted, but with great coolness and courage, Driver SWINTON controlled his team and halted them, and as soon as the care of the horses was provided for, returned to his wounded comrade and carried him to cover at great personal risk under heavy shelling.'
