Embarked Sydney, 19 December 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 17 February 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 5 September 1917; taken on strength, 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, 16 September 1917.

Transferred to and taken on strength of 5th Field Artillery Brigade, 24 September 1917.

Admitted to 7th Australian Field Ambulance, 8 October 1917 (sprained left leg), and transferred same day to 10th Casualty Clearing Station; by Ambulance Train No 9 to 8th Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, 15 October 1917; to No 1 Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 1 November 1917; to Australian General Base Depot, Havre, 22 November 1917; taken on strength, 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, 14 December 1917.

On leave to Paris, 4 March 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 13 March 1918.

Transferred to 5th Field Artillery Brigade, and taken on strength, 14th battery, 16 March 1918.

On leave to United Kingdom, 1 October 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 20 October 1918. Found guilty, 24 October 1918, of being absent without leave, 7 am, 15 October, to 7 am, 20 October 1918: awarded 14 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited total of 19 days' pay.

Marched out to England, 11 April 1919; marched in to No 2 command Depot, Sutton Veny, 12 April 1919.
