Marched in to 4th Light Horse Training Regiment, Moascar, 25 February 1917; marched out to 4th Light Horse Regiment, 8 March 1917, and rejoined unit, Ferry Post, same day.

Admitted to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, El Arish, 17 April 1917 (diarrohoea); discharged to duty, 21 April 1917; rejoined unit, Khan Yunis, 26April 1917.

Appointed Temporary Lance Corporal, 5 May 1918.

Admitted to 66th Casualty Clearing Station, 22 June 1918, and reverted to Private; transferred to 31st General Hospital, Abbassia, 1 July 1918 (pyrexia, unknown origin); transferred to Convalescent Depot, Boulac, 18 July 1918 (malaria); discharged to 4th Light Horse Training Regiment, Moasca, 26 July 1918; rejoined unit, 31 July 1918.

Reported sick to hospital, Ludd, 25 August 1918; admitted to 14th Australian Stationary Hospital; transferred to Convalescent Depot, Port Said, 24 September 1918; discharged on 10 days' leave, 1 October 1918.
