Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty west of BRAY on 22nd August, 1918. Sergeant BOYLE did excellent work in keeping his men together, and, on reaching the objective very materially helped his Company Commander to reorganise his men, and in spite of heavy machine gun and shell fire, he greatly assisted in consolidating the new position. His courage and initiative inspired the men with the utmost confidence.'
