Proceeded to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 16 May 1915. Admitted to No 2 General Hospital, Mena, Egypt, 13 August 1915 (influenza); discharged to Helouan Convalescent Camp, 21 August 1915; discharged fit for duty, 24 August 1915.

Admitted to No 1 General Hospital, 5 September 1915 (injury to leg); discharged to duty, 26 September 1915. Returned to Gallipoli, 25 October 1915. Disembarked Alexandria, 26 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).

Appointed Driver, 25 January 1916. Admitted to 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance, Gashalgia, 22 April 1916; discharged to duty, 24 April 1916 (no further details). Taken on strength, 3rd Machine Gun Squadron, 23 July 1916. Admitted to 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance, Masaid, 31 January 1917 (retention of urine); discharged to duty, 3 February 1917.
