Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He remained at his post for nine days in a heavily bombarded and gassed area receiving and despatching stores. He was in charge of Divisional Engineer Dumps, and it was due to his untiring efforts and total disregard of danger that there was no hindrance to the delivery of supplies.'
