Recommendations (Medals and Awards)

Military Cross

'During 20th and 21st September 1917, in the operations East of Ypres, Lieutenant Thompson had charge of the consolidation of a strong point in the vicinity of Polygon Wood and the construction of another communication trench to a strong point. He completed the task allotted him in a very creditable manner, advising the garrison and assisting with his own section, with the result that a very strong line was established in the 2nd Objective. His behaviour and example throughout the whole operations was excellent in spite of the very heavy shelling his section was subjected to.'
