Medals |
Military Medal 'At PLOEGSTEERT from 31st May, 1917, to 2nd June, 1917, this N.C.O. was employed with his Battery on wire cutting. The enemy shelled the position heavily and continuously, but this N.C.O. by his example and disregard for personal safety, set a fine example to his comrades. I consider that it was largely owing to his efforts that the guns of the Battery were kept in action, and that their tasks were so effectively carried out. Sergeant THOMPSON has previously done fine work on several occasions.'
