'For gallant conduct under fire on the 22nd September when conveying ammunition to BELLEWAARDE RIDGE through an enemy barrage placed across the road and continuing to carry out this duty until the destruction of the road by shell fire rendered further trips impossible. This driver has shown great coolness and courage under fire on other occasions.'
