'During the attack on BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES on 4th October, 1917, Pte. TODD did splendid work as a Stretcher Bearer. When he was wounded and unable to carry on he still carried on organisation of Stretcher Bearer parties out of prisoners and dressing the wounded. His courage and devotion to duty saved many lives.'
