Military Medal 'This N.C.O. was conspicuous for his bravery resource, and unfailing energy in laying and maintaining telephone lines during the attack on the Hindenburg Line, in particular on the night of 7th/8th May 1917 when he laid fresh lines and mainainted same to forward Battalions, under heavy shell fire, maintaining communication throughout.'
