Discharged from the Australian Imperial Forces on account of desertion, 31 March 1920. Court of Enquiry findings read 'that No 5549 Pte J. Brady 26th Battalion attached to the 7th Training Battalion, A.I.F. illegally absented himself without leave (or sufficient cause) at Rollestone Camp on the 30th November 1916, and that he is still so absent an that there is no evidence available as to his deficiencies of Kit.'
