Military Medal 'On 29th September, 1918, during operations South of BONY, a heavy bombardment was put on our position. TRIFFITT and two others were wounded. Unmindful of his own injuries he at once rendered first aid to the others exposing himself to Machine Gun fire in so doing. Realising that the Company casualties were heavy he insisted on remaining at duty, thereby setting a very fine example at a critical time. Afterwards, Private TRIFFITT remained on the parapet under heavy machine gun fire sniping and observing, inflicting casualties and sending back information which was of great value to his Company Commander.'
