Military Medal 'In the operations at WESTHOEK, East of YPRES on 4th October 1917 this man, whilst bearing in a squad, showed great bravery and devotion to duty under very trying circumstances, under shell and machine gun fire, in pouring rain, and knee deep mud. He carried again and again through the heaviest curtains of enemy fire and though wounded in the neck, remained on duty. Pte. TUCK set a high standard of courage and endurance and cheeriness, and was of invaluable use in evacuation of wounded.'
