Military Medal 'At the VAUVILLERS Operations on 9th August 1918, when the final objective had been reached after very severe fighting, and whilst enemy Machine Guns and snipers were very active there were a number of men lying wounded in a very exposed position. Private TUCKER, although not a Stretcher Bearer, rushed out under a very heavy Machine Gun barrage, and succeeded in dressing the wounds of his comrades. He then assisted in removing them to a place of safety, in spite of the fact that by so doing he had to cross over perfectly clear and exposed ground under the direct observation of the enemy. By his prompt and courageous work he undoubtedly saved the injured from further danger, and his action was the admiration of all ranks.'
