Medals |
Military Medal 'Sergeant TUCKETT was under my command in the 2nd A. I. Brigade Signal Section, and was one of the first to land at ANZAC, and during the first few days while the line was being consolidated he displayed great gallantry in keeping all lines of communication in working order. At CAPE HELLES, during the attack on KRITHIA by 2nd A>I> Brigade, Sergeant TUCKETT again did marvellous work under very heavy shell and rifle fire, maintaining communications throughout under most trying conditions day and night, which necessitated perpetual patrols and subsequent repairs in the open. It was during this engagement that Sergeant TUCKETT displayed great gallantry in carrying a wounded Officer (Captain HOGAN, Brigade Machine Gun Officer) to the rear at great personal risk to himself.'
